CRYOTHERAPY

CryoPen

Cryotherapy is a safe and highly effective procedure used to freeze, destroy and remove unslightly skin tags, cherry angioma, milia, warts, age spots, and other benign skin lesions.

Here at Woodstone Aesthetics, I use ‘CryoPen O’ which is a highly effective device, available only to medical aestheticians. It uses liquefied Nitrous oxide to freeze skin lesions with a precise pinpoint application allowing treatment of lesions with no damage to surrounding healthy skin.

Warts and verrucae

These are small, hardened usually painless lesions caused by a strain of HPV. Warts can appear anywhere on the body, typically on the hands (verruca on the feet)

Cherry angioma (Campbell de Morgan Spots)

These are typically a small red lesion caused by a collection of capillaries. They can appear anywhere on the body and typically appear from mid-adulthood onwards.

Skin tags

These are benign skin growth that appear typically in and around skin folds, eyelids, neck, underarms, buttocks, thighs. They are fibrous and bleed easily if nicked. They are most common in middle age onwards.

Milia

Common in all ages and are formed when keratin becomes entrapped beneath the outer layer of the skin forming a tiny cyst , these are usually at the base of a hair follicle or sweat gland.

Lentigine

Also known as liver spot, age spot, sunspot, solar lentigo. Usually pale brown in colour and flat to the skin, formed by exposure to harmful sun UV rays. Can affect all skin types and appear from mid adulthood.

Seborrhoeic keratosis (senile wart, brown wart)

These are benign non-viral lesions that affect older adults. They often have the texture of a wart (hence their nicknames) but are brown in colour, they often grow and can bleed if caught and bits break off.

Other skin lesions including moles will need to be examined and treatments discussed prior to any treatment plan.
